rendering (also to render)

applying audio manipulation functions (question)When audio is played out from the editor's timeline, edit operations are applied on it. This includes cuts, fading, effects, mixing, etc. This processing is called rendering and occurs for playout and saving the timeline in different contexts.
selection

can mean object selection (audio objects, clipboard objects, MTS tracks, etc.)

can mean time range selection in timeline

mark out

in editors' timeline a range between mark in and mark out is called time range selection
timecodeTime of day for a position inside the trackThis is the recording time (as defined in an audio's meta data) plus the timeline position
