Creating Snapshots

Snapshots act as instantaneous recordings or a show list which can be "photographed" at any time in the present status of the show. The purpose is to compare various broadcast schedule steps and restore previous intermediate states. All the states of a broadcast schedule are managed in the numerical ranges under the two main headings of "Scheduleā€œ (DigAIRange) and "Protocol". The current schedule status is always the numerical range starting with 0; On-Air logging protocols are managed starting with numerical range 1000, and snapshots from 2000.

  1. Click [+] in the header bar of the broadcast table window. The "DigAIRange - Question" dialog box opens.

  1. Click [OK] to confirm.

  1. The snapshot is created in the show structure tree with a new track number, date, and time. The snapshot is only valid for the associated show and is readable for all other users.

Sample application: A music editor takes a snapshot after manually importing music tracks so that he can compare the schedule and the OnAir log after the show. Since the scheduled track changes dynamically during the show (due to changes in start times, deleted or added items, etc.), the snapshot saves the original state which can be restored if necessary.
