The Toolbar

The Toolbar contains navigation section for DBM, a section for creating new entries and an individually definable section with launch icons for multiple DigaSystem and 3rd party application modules.

The General DBM Tool Buttons

Button

Description

Login: By means of this button the user calls up the login dialog in order to login or logout of the system.

Refresh: Click on this button to refresh the entry list (an automatic refresh interval can be defined; see section Define automatic table Refresh in Table Configuration.

Selection dialog: This button calls up the simple selection dialog to enter various search criteria
(see also section Easy Selection in Finding Entries)

Delete: Calls up the delete dialog for the selected entries (see also Deleting an Entry)

Print: Opens the Print template dialog to print out the marked entries (if available).

View Browser: Opens a browser window in DBM and a predefined URL.

Buttons for Creating Entries

New entry/record: This button displays the recording screen to define and start the recording of a new entry.

New text entry: Creates a new entry without audio, that is automatically set to the class "Text"

New virtual entry: Creates a new virtual entry. A virtual entry is a placeholder with metadata for a not yet available audio. E.g. this can be used in the DigaSystem module "DigAIRange" as placeholder for a news block and/or be merged with a media entry to pass over the metadata (see Merging Entries)


New group: Creates a new group. In a group multiple entries can be thematically put together.

New story: Creates a new story. In a story multiple entries can be thematically put together.

DigaGrabber: Opens the DigaGrabber module for grabbing Audio CD's into a DigaSystem table.

Quickingest: Opens the Quickingest module for importing the video material of specific digital cameras into a DigaSystem table.

Buttons for Editing / Working on Entries

The following list of application launch buttons shows often used (including some third party applications), but not all possible buttons; except for the Preview and DigaText (commented below with "default") icons all those buttons need to be configured in the DigaSystem Administrator to appear.


Preview (default)
Calls up the mini-player for previewing the selected entry.

SingleTrack
Starts the SingleTrack without transferring an entry from the Database Manager.
Dragging one or more entries onto this button transfers them into the SingleTrack Editor.

EasyTrack
Starts the EasyTrack Editor without transferring an entry from the Database Manager.

MultiTrack
Starts the MultiTrack Editor without transferring an entry from the Database Manager.
Dragging one or more entries onto this button transfers them into the MultiTrack Editor.

Sequoia
Starts Sequoia without transferring an entry from the Database Manager.
Dragging one or more entries onto this button transfers them into Sequoia.

DigaText (default)
Clicking on this button opens the text processing window DigaText. This allows texts to be created and then saved to the database.

Word
Starts MS Word. Word Template needs to be defined with parameter DBM\WordDotFile

Buttons for Scheduling Entries

DigAIRange
Opens the DigAIRange module for planning entries into the Broadcast Server Shows.

OnAIR TrackMixer
Opens the OnAIR TrackMixer (formerly Crossfade Mixer).

Buttons for Distributing / Archiving Entries

Replicator Client
This button starts the Replicator Client module.

DigaTransIP
Handover of entries

DigaTransferSystem
Start of DigaTransferSystem

Archive
Dragging an entry to this button opens up a dialog window for entering additional keywords and then the entry can be archived to the specified archive medium.
