Admin.exe: Limit of 15 digits for local parameter file
Q: I'm using DigaLocation for selecting different configurations on a workstation. I made different local parameter files and named them e.g. Workstation-Stacks.par. It seems to work but the Administrator told me that he has problems spreading parameters to this workstation. Could that be?
A: Yes, definitely. Microsoft limits the PC's hostname to 15 digits. It is not possible having longer names in Windows. Therefore DigAdmin has the same limit inside some function, especially in the copy function for parameters. You would get error messages if you select such a configuration as destination for copying Parameters
