Q: I'm running BCS on my laptop together with DigAIRange and TurboPlayer. Everything looks fine but now the system stopped working.


A: After analyzing this situation we found out that the installed Labtec WebCam caused this error. The Logitech QuickCam software package searched for updates and installed a new version. This version created a new network connection called "Microsoft TV-/Video Connection" and assigned an IP address


Because this network connection got an higher priority than all other network connections resolving of the hostname's IP address returned the IP address of this new connection.


Therefore establishing a BCS connection using the local hostname failed.


Moving the LAN connection to a higher priority or uninstalling Logitech QuickCam solves the problem!
