Time Conventions
These time conventions are used in throughout David's preview players. Specifically, the advanced editing options are applicable for both the Subclip Editor and the RoughCut edit.
Audio
The time follows the following conventions:
- hh:mm:ss.ms ms ms, where h - hour, m- minute, s-second, ms-millisecond. e.g. 00:00:04.036
Entering Marker and Tone Positions
It is not required to write colons while editing the maker times. Instead, use the shorthand conventions below.
Example | Shorthand | Results in Subclip Editor | |
---|---|---|---|
Standard Notation | Description | ||
No need for colons or periods. | 2010005 | 00:20:10.005 | 20th minute, 10th second, 5th millisecond |
Seconds shorthand | 1. | 00:00:01.000 | first second |
24.1 | 00:00:24.001 | 24th second, first millisecond | |
Minute shorthand | 2: | 00:02:00.000 | 2nd minute |
32:55 | 00:32:55.000 | 32nd minute and 55th second |
Hence any leading zeros and colons are optional and not required.
