Update from NP or PCX to Multimedia

Question: I want to update from PCX or NP based versions to Multimedia versions. How can I do this ?

Answer:

Edit-Station, EasyTrack, Multitrack and the RecorderOCX (for DBM, Edit-Station-Recording, NewsScheduler, NewsSchedulerX, CartWallManager) are available in 3 different driver models.

a) PCX-driver (for use with Digigram PCX cards)

b) PCXNP-driver (for use with Digigram PCX cards)

c) Multimedia-driver (for use with soundblaster compatible Multimedia cards that support 48 kHz)

Here is a short guide to changing your existing PCX or PCXNP installation to Multimedia for all modules. We assume that a soundblaster compatible card is already installed and correctly configured.

Changing Edit-Station PCX/PCXNP to Edit-Station MM

1. Copy the file 'Edit_MM.exe' into your Digas directory

2. Change the value of the key 'Edit-Station' in the Admin section Programs to "Edit_MM.exe"

3. If Recording is to be enabled you will also have to change the settings for RecorderOCX (see below)

Changing EasyTrack PCX/PCXNP to EasyTrack MM

1. Copy the file 'V_DLL_MM_3.DLL' into your Digas directory

2. Change the value of the key 'DLLName' in the Admin section EasyTrack\Settings to "V_DLL_MM_3.DLL"

Changing Multitrack PCX/PCXNP to Multitrack MM

1. Copy the file 'V_DLL_MM_3.DLL' into your Digas directory

2. Change the value of the key 'DLLName' in the Admin section Multitrack\Settings to "V_DLL_MM_3.DLL"

Changing RecorderOCX PCX/PCXNP to RecorderOCX MM

1. Copy the file 'Rec_mm.ocx' into your Digas directory

2. Register this file with the Registration server 'RegSvr32.exe'

3. Change the value of the key 'Recorder' in the Admin section DBM to "MM"

4. Change the value of the key 'Recorder' in the Admin section PlayRec to "MM"

5. Change the value of the key 'Recorder' in the Admin section CartWall Manager to "MME"

Please note that you may also have to change the volume settings for the updated workstations. See FAQ "How to define the volume settings ?"
