Advanced Voice Tracking (AVT) Configuration
Parameter Configuration
Many aspects of AdvancedVoiceTracking (AVT) can be tailored to suit the needs of your radio station, or simply to meet personal preferences. To create configuration values, you need the "Admin" tool which comes as a part of the Digas System.
Attention!
Please be sure to know how to configure OTM for DigAIRange and/or Turbo Player before you modify configured settings.
AVT parameters are stored in the "AdvancedVoiceTracking" subkey of the "Extra" subkey. The "Extra" subkey is a subkey of the OTM configuration folder.
The "AdvancedVoiceTracking" subkey contains three subkeys which are used for different aspects of AVT configuration:
Ducking | Parameters that control the duck/unduck behavior |
FadeOut | Parameters that control the fade-out function |
Leveling | Parameters that control the volume adjustment keys |
The association between key codes and AVT functions (as mentioned in the "Overview" section) is maintained by the calling program, i.e., DigAIRange or Turbo Player. You should use the respective user interface to define these data.
"Ducking" Parameters
They control the shape, width, depth, and position of fade-downs and fade-ups that are initiated by the "START DUCKED/DUCK/UNDUCK" key.
The bold and underlined value is the default value.

Module | Parameter | Value | Description |
Amplification | 200.0...0.0 -15.0 |
| |
FadeDown | 0...100000 1000 |
| |
FadeDownBefore | 0...100000 500 | With this parameter you can let the fade curve start before the key is pressed. Any positive value shifts the fade curve into the past. The value 0 lets the fade-down start synchronously with the key-press.
| |
FadeDownCurveType | Linear, Log1, Log2, LogMinus2 | The shape of the fade curve. Must be one of Linear , Log1 , Log2 , LogMinus2 . These are the same curve shapes as those which you can select in OTM when interactively creating fade-ins, fade-outs, and cross fades.FadeDownCurveType of the ducking settings
The supported values:

FadeUp | 0...100000 1000 |
| |
FadeUpBefore | 0...100000 |

FadeUpCurveType | Linear, Log1, Log2, LogMinus2 | The shape of the fade curve. Must be one of
The supported values are:

"FadeOut" Parameters
These parameters are stored in the "FadeOut" subkey. They control the fade-out function which is triggered by pressing the "START NORMAL/FADE OUT" key during playout of the respective element.

Module | Parameter | Value | Description |
FadeCurveType | Linear, Log1, Log2, LogMinus2 | FadeCurveType for fadeout settings in AdvancedVoiceTracking Mode.
The supported values are:
| |
FadeTime | 0...100000 2500 | FadeTime in milliseconds for fade out settings in AdvancedVoiceTracking Mode.
|
"Leveling" Parameters
These parameters are stored in the "Leveling" subkey. They refer to the operation of the ↑ and ↓ volume adjustment keys.
Reference Path
"..|DigAIRange|Crossfade\Extra|AdvancedVoiceTracking|Leveling" or "..|TurboPlayer|GUI|Windows|CFM|1|Extra|AdvancedVoiceTracking|Leveling"
Module | Parameter | Value | Description |
DistanceOfFadePoints | 0...5000 100 | Defines the minimal distance in milliseconds, between any two adjacent fade points when volume is adjusted. This value is used to honor limitations of the play-out software or hardware which may not be able to process fade points that are too close to each other. Must be zero or a positive number not above 5000. This restriction is applied for non-linear fade curves, as well when one of the ↑ or ↓ buttons is pressed (which in fact also creates a small fade).
| |
LevelModification | 0.5...5.0 1.0 | Amount in dB by which the fade curve is increased or decreased when one of the ↑ or ↓ buttons is pressed. Decimal digits are allowed; a dot (fullstop, period) servers as decimal separator. Must be positive in the range of 0.5 to 5.0.
| |
MinimumDuckLevel | -10.0...-3.0 -6.0 | Defines the threshold in dB by which OTM distinguishes between "low volume" and "high volume", in the context of the DUCK/UNDUCK key.

Keypad or Keyboard Configuration
The functions of AdvancedVoiceTracking are only available via keyboard shortcuts; they do not have buttons or menu entries in the user interface. The only exception is the "STOP" function which is also available through the STOP button . Keyboard shortcuts are defined in the calling application that is in DigAIRange or Turbo Player. Please refer to Keyboard Shortcuts for more details.
As was already mentioned, AdvancedVoiceTracking handling becomes much easier when you use an external keypad that is specifically configured for use with this functionality. In this case the configuration of the keypad must match that of the keyboard shortcuts. For example, if you have assigned the key combination Alt+R to the function "Enter Advanced Voice Tracking", then you must configure the keypad so that the "ENTER AVT" key emits the key code Alt+R.
The following table lists shortcut names as you can see them in the configuration dialog of DigAIRange and the key names as they were used in this document.
