Introduction

Release 2026.2.0 is here!

We're pleased to announce that Release 2026.2.0 is now available.

Release 2026.2.0 continues DAVID's commitment to bridging desktop and web technologies, making daily work faster, more flexible and reliable across production, playout, collaboration, and rights management.

Highlights include:

  • CAE (Contextual Audio Editor): Real-time project collaboration moves browser-based production forward. Teams can now exchange feedback within their workflows through integrated comments, while rich-text formatting and color-coded highlights make it easier to see the length of each segment at a glance.

  • ROAD & InstaRecorder: Recording schedules, including planned start and end times, can now be modified on the fly without interrupting active jobs. The Scheduling Client includes metadata fields and real-time status notes for active tasks. InstaRecorder adds MPEG Layer 2 support and ROAD backend selection for additional format options.

  • TurboPlayer Service (TPS): A user-friendly rights management system with full backwards compatibility ensures existing setups continue to work seamlessly. The API now supports synchronous requests for operations like start/stop playback, and overall reliability has been improved.

  • DigAIRange: One-click prelisten for EndPointStories (EPS), no need to open an EPS just to preview content.

  • DBM v6: Now available as a 64-bit variant for testing.

As always, you'll find more details and technical notes in LEARN, along with guidance on deployment and product lifecycle support.
