Filler Groups
Filler groups are required for automated shows.
Filler groups are used as described below.
■ The filler function only operates when the on-air software (TurboPlayer) is in automatic mode.
■ If a filler group is assigned to an automated show, elements are automatically included in the broadcast schedule in case gaps occur within this group.
■ The show scheduling system searches for a suitable filler to fit the duration as precisely as possible. If there are several fillers of the same length in a filler group, the fillers of the same length are rotated. We therefore advise you to fill a group with as many fillers of different lengths as possible. Ideally, try to gradate the shorter fillers as finely as possible in order to obtain the best results in the show schedule.
Alternatively, use fillers as reserve elements to fill gaps automatically. Compare the section on reserve elements.
Creating a New Filler Group
Create filler groups under Jingles and then fill them with appropriate jingle material.
Right-click in the show structure tree the [Jingles] folder, and then click [Manage]. The “Administration” dialog box opens.
Click [New].
Enter the title of the new filler group in the "Name" field.
Optionally, enter a short description in the "Info" field.
In the "Number" field, specify the number of fillers allowed.
In the "Allowed classes" field, specify which audio classes are allowed in the jingle bank.
Click [Save] to confirm or [Close] when finished. The new filler group then appears in the Jingles folder in the structure tree.
Filling a filler group
To fill a jingle bank, first drag&drop it to the content window for editing, or double-click the jingle bank. Then drag&drop elements to the content window from any directory or from the Database Manager.
