The Menu Bar
The Menu bar shows all browsing, selecting and other functions available to DBM grouped in menus as described below.
In the Toolbar situated below the Menu bar, you can invoke many of these functions by pressing a corresponding Tool icon.
Program menu options
Login | Opens the login dialog so that you can login and thereby receive your specific user rights or logout when leaving the workstation. |
Archive Mode | Opens the Archive list to research for archived items. Only available for Archive tables. |
Settings | Opens the Settings Dialog which allows various user-specific settings. |
Manage column settings | Only visible for the Administrator: |
Manage selection criteria | Only visible for the Administrator: |
Change Password | Call up a Dialog Box to change your login password. |
Exit | Leave the DigaSystem® program (make sure your work progress is saved). |
Database menu options
Selection: All | Resets any search filters and shows all existing entries of the table again. C.f. section Using a Filter in Finding Entries. |
Easy selection | |
Configure selection buttons | Create user-specific selection buttons which are convenient for calling up commonly used selections. Details see Configure Selection Buttons. In general, the use of Selection buttons is described in section Finding Entries. |
Refresh entry list | |
Edit Definitions | Opens the Edit Definitions Dialog for administration of definition lists. |
Table info | Information and the user rights for the currently selected table can be displayed in the Table Info Dialog |
Entry menu options
Edit | Opens the entry mask for the selected entry to edit Entry Metadata. |
Delete | |
Play | Starts the mini-player with the selected entry. |
Stop | Stops the mini-player. |
Merge entries | |
Deselect | Remove the marking from one or more selected entries. |
Import files | Opens the Windows selection box to select an audio file to be imported. In case of importing a mp3 file, Meta data from ID3 V1, ID3 V2.2, ID3 V2.3 und ID3 V2.4 tags are read and automatically entered into the appropriate database fields. |
Import Zip-Archive | If the current table allows the ZIP-Archives, they can be imported with this option. |
Import MCA files | Opens the Import dialog for MCA (Multi Channel Audio) files, which were saved from a surround editor. By opening the sound files into the different channels and clicking the "Compile" button, a RF64 Surround audio file is compiled and saved under a new database entry. |
Paste from Clipboard | The marked entries are copied from the entry board into the currently selected table (Copy&Paste action) |
Get entry | The selected virtual entry is ordered and transferred via the next available line from a DigaSystem® connected via DigaReplicator, as soon as the virtual entry has been filled with audio. |
Export | Exports the entry to a directory to be defined in a windows box. |
Convert audio | Opens the Convert Audio Entry Dialog |
Copy to clipboard | The marked entries are copied into the entry board (Copy&Paste action) |
Archive entry | Archive the marked entries in the DigaSystem® Archive. |
Zip Entry | Create a zip file of the selected entry (required to copy DigaCutMT/ST projects to another table) |
Unzip entry | Open a zipped table entry and create a normal table entry out of it (see above) |

New Virtual entry | |

New collection entry | Only available in a Collection Table! Opens the database mask to create a new collection entry. C.f. Working with Collections |
New sequoia project |
Only available in combination with a Sequoia installation!
Opens the database mask to create a new Sequoia project. After saving the new database entry, Sequoia opens automatically and opens a new project. In the end, the Sequoia project is saved in the previously created Sequoia project database entry. |
Entry to DigaText OnAIR_TrackMixer SingleTrack EasyTrack MultiTrack DigaIngester DigAIRange DigaClipboard Sequoia | Transfers the marked entries to the appropriate module for editing, e.g. the Audio Editors. |
Tools menu options
Change to … | Opens the defined application without transferring an entry. |
DBM above… | Opens the defined application and places it in the lower half of the screen, while resizing DBM to the upper half. |

Administrator | Opens login dialog requesting admin password |
DigaText | Opens the DigaText application in the lower half of the DBM window |
Infopad | Opens the InfoPad application (same as DigaText) within an own window. |
In addition to the commands described above, extra menu commands can be defined in the DigaSystem Registry to open any Windows application from these menu entries.
View menu options
Tool bar | Turns the button bar on / off. |

Selection buttons | Turns the selection buttons on / off. |
Status bar | Turns the status bar on / off. |
Browser | Turns the browser view on / off. |
Multi-table search | Turns the Multi-table search on / off. |
Group members | Turns the Group members display on / off. |
UI Scheme | Opens a sub menu which lets you select a UI scheme. You must restart DBM to see the new scheme. More details see Configuring UI Appearance with Themes |
Window menu options
Minimized | Minimizes the Database Manager (application is still active). |
Maximized | Maximize the Database Manager to full screen size. |
Normal | Restores the Database Manager's window size. |
Upper / Lower / Left / Right half | Database Manager window is positioned in the upper / lower / left / right half of the screen so that the other half of the screen can be occupied by another application or for drag-and-drop. |
Help menu options
Help | Starts the Database Manager Help. |
