Q: Why doesn't DigaGrabber recognize my CD Drive?
A: This is a known problem of Service Pack 1 under Windows XP. One must replace the wnaspi32.dll from XP SP1 with the file of the same name delivered with DigaGrabber (or available at the Digas mailbox).
Excerpt from DigaGrabber's readme.txt :
ASPI:
If no drive is detected by the application, copy the file wnaspi32.dll to the system32 directory !
If you are logged on as User without Admin rights:
the program will be unable to locate the CD drive due to the fact that normal users are restricted in their access to low level driver functions (in this case the ASPI driver). There is a patch available from AHEAD - the developers of Nero CD burning software, that will alleviate this problem. You can download it here:

Problemstellung: Nachdem man die DigaGrabber.exe und die Akrip.dll in das DigaSystem Verzeichnis kopiert hat erkennt DigaGrabber beim ersten Start kein CD-Laufwerk. Im Menü unter Aktionen ist kein CD-Laufwerk aufgeführt.
Es gibt eine Fehlermeldung wenn man auf das Icon "Trackliste" klickt: Kein ASPI Treiber installiert.
Auf dem Rechner kommt Windows XP Professional mit Service Pack 2 und allen aktuellen Security Updates zum Einsatz. Zusätzlich ist Nero 6 installiert.
Lösung: Anscheinend gibt es einen Treiberkonflikt. DigaGrabber benötigt eine funktionierende Installation der ASPI Treiber.
Auf der folgenden Website von Adaptec lassen sich die neuesten Versionen herunterladen:

Das Installationspaket muss auf die lokale Festplatte kopiert und dort extrahiert werden. Zur Installation kann man das beiliegende Install.bat Installationsscript verwenden, allerdings muss man es aus einer Shell aufrufen mit der Option install.bat XP32
Wenn Nero 6 installiert ist kann man das ASPI Setup überprüfen indem man das NeroInfo Tool startet über Start \ Programme \ Nero \ Nero Toolkit.
Unter Nero 7 findet man das Nero InfoTool unter Start \ Programme \ Nero 7 \ Werkzeuge
Im Reiter "ASPI" findet man Informationen zu System ASPI und zu Nero ASPI. Nero verwendet eine eigene wnaspi32.dll in der Version 2.0.1.74 vom 02.11.2004. DigaGrabber kann sowohl mit dem System ASPI-Treiber als auch mit dem Nero ASPI-Treiber arbeiten.
Nero 7: wnaspi32.dll --> C:\Programme\Nero\Nero 7\Core
--> Auch wenn unter System ASPI eine gelbe Meldung (ASPI is not installed) erscheint, dass kein Treiber installiert ist kann DigaGrabber funktionieren wenn ein Nero ASPI Treiber vorhanden ist. In diesem Fall muss unter Nero ASPI eine grüne Meldung (ASPI is installed and working properly) vorhanden sein.

Achtung: Nach der Installation des Adaptec ASPI Setups muss der Computer neu gestartet werden.

Question: After installing DigaGrabber.exe and Akrip.dll to my DigaSystem directory I launched DigaGrabber but it showed no CD drive at "Action" menu. There is an error message by clicking on the track list icon: no ASPI driver installed. I'm using Windows XP Professional with SP2 plus all security updates and I installed Nero 6. What to do?
Answer: Seems to be a driver conflict. DigaGrabber needs a proper installation of ASPI drivers. You can download the newest version from Adaptec:

Please extract the package on your harddisk. You can use the included Install.bat but you have to execute it from the command line with the following option: install.bat XP32
If you have Nero 6 installed you can check the ASPI setup by launching the NeroInfo tool from Start \ Programs \ Nero \ Nero ToolKit.
